MICRO-NEEDLING AND COLLAGEN BOOSTER TREATMENTS

What is the new Derma FNS?

Microneedling is a treatment used to tighten the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment can effectively treat the appearance of acne scars too. Microneedling can be used on all skin types and areas of the body including the face.
Derma FNS™ uses multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin to create similar vertical channels which are designed to achieve the same effect and with minimal epidermal damage. It is thought that the greater density of channels, leads to enhanced results over dermal rollers.
Fractional lasers create vertical channels into the skin maintaining the integrity of the skin surface but stimulating dermal processes leading to skin tightening and remodelling.
Derma FNS™ results are comparable in effect to ablative treatments such as Fraxel, IPL and Laser Resurfacing but at a fraction of the cost and with much less downtime and minimal damage to the integrity of the skin.

How does the Derma FNS work?

The Derma FNS™ uses vertical insertions to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin causing the release of serum growth factors which stimulate the breakdown of old fibrous collagen and stimulate new collagen and elastin development.
This results in small injuries to the skin that are not noticeable. The skin then begins a wound healing response and as a result increases collagen and elastin improving skin appearance.

What does Derma FNS™ treat?

The Derma FNS™ works great for:

  • Skin tightening, lifting and rejuvenating

  • Acne scars and wound healing

  • Improving wrinkles and fine lines

  • Minimising pore size

  • Improving stretch marks

  • Treating alopecia

What is the procedure?

Prior to the procedure, a local anaesthetic is applied to the area to be treated. The micro needling process is conducted using a device that administers multiple small injuries with small needles to the skin. The entire treatment lasts for around 30 minutes.

Are there any side effects?

For most of the procedure, it is pain-free although some discomfort can be experienced. Common side effects can include redness and minor swelling that can last up to 3 days after the treatment.
